We spent one whole afternoon last summer watching a fawn in the neighbors unmowed lawn. Eventually the mother came back for it. We think she just stowed it in what she thought was a safe place while she went off to graze. It was thrilling and we knew enough just to leave it alone. When it stood up it was still very wobbly on its legs, just like the newborns you see in nature videos. One of my favorite summer memories!
